Hyderabad - portrait of a city

While we were in Hyderabad, we got a chance to do a lot of street photography, both by exploring around the city and being constantly stuck in traffic. This was our first time bringing Maya to India, so everyone wanted to see us (a.k.a. we were being summoned to each end of the city).

Looking back at these photos, Hyderabad is much more eccentric than I already thought! India really is a photographer's paradise...everyone you come across is like a character out of a novel!

  2. Awesome photographs.
At least it is not so boring, stereotype and predictable like your parts of the city.

  3. Great photos indeed! You are a skillful photographer. Each and every one of these are really interesting.
From the little experience I have - India seems to be the perfect place to take street photos. It is not only the interesting scenes you can see really everywhere, it is also about the way not at people react well to the camera.
Here in Taiwan normal people usually try to get out of sight as soon as I pull out my camera, or they start still but look so uncomfortable I feel really bad for wanting to capture them. In India most people reacted with happiness, priceless!

  5. Nice pictures, I especially like the first one, the chappal store, there's something about the shirts that cracks me up. (Padparadscha)

  6. Alex,

All of these photos are wonderful, but the ones that really speak to me is the picture of the Chappal stall with all of the shoes! Also love the one of chef and sunrise. The city of Charminar is an amazing place just love the photos you have taken of the beautiful city.
